Mermaid adventure in Okinawa [part 1]

I've been pretty lazy these past months, I came back from Japan, and didn't have the heart to write about it.

But here I am again to tell you about the week I spent on the Zamami Island in Okinawa!

J'ai été plutôt paresseuse ces derniers mois, je suis rentrée du Japon, et je n'avais pas le coeur à écrire des articles sur mon séjour.
Mais me revoilà, pour vous raconter la semaine que j'ai passé à Okinawa!

♡ First, why did I choose the Zamami Island? ♡

Well, I've always wanted to go to Okinawa, but I wanted to go to a place with not too much people, when I go on holiday, I prefer places not full of tourists (asocial person spotted XD)
But I also wanted to experience scuba diving, and the waters of Zamami Island are known to be very clear and really beautiful.

So I decided to search for a place to stay on Zamami Island, and I found a hotel called "Cat's inn Kerama". I was first attracted by the name, and then I found out that they were offering Scuba diving course, so I made my reservation.

I left Tokyo by bus around 1am to go to Narita airpor, my flight was leaving around 6am so I had no choice but to leave in the middle of the night and wait a few hours at the airport.
Well, I distracted myself by taking silly photos.....people were staring and chuckling but I was so excited I didn't care!

♡ Tout d'abord, pourquoi j'ai choisi l'île de Zamami ? ♡

Eh bien, j'ai toujours voulu aller à Okinawa, mais je voulais aller à un endroit peu fréquenté, quand je pars en vacance, je préfère les coins où les touristes se font rares (asociale en puissance repérée XD)
Mais je voulais également m'essayer à la plongée, et les eaux de Zamami sont connues pour être très claires et vraiment magnifiques.

J'ai donc décidé de chercher un endroit où loger à Zamami, et j'ai trouvé un hôtel appelé "Cats inn Kerama". J'ai d'abord été attirée par le nom, puis j'ai découvert qu'ils proposaient la formation en plongée, j'ai donc fait ma réservation.

J'ai quitté Tokyo en bus vers 1h du matin pour l'aéroport de Narita, mon vol partait vers 6h du matin, je n'avais donc pas d'autre choix que de partir de Tokyo en plein milieu de la nuit, et d'attendre plusieurs heures à l'aéroport.
Je me suis divertie en prenant des photos débiles....les gens me dévisageaient et rigolaient, mais j'étais trop surexcitée je m'en fichais!

                             
The flight from Tokyo to Naha was pretty short, 3 or 4 hours. I didn't sleep much, I was tired but I just don't sleep well in planes.

Le vol de Tokyo à Naha était plutôt court, 3 ou 4 heures. Je n'ai pas beaucoup dormi, j'étais fatiguée mais j'ai du mal à dormir en avion.

After I arrived in Naha, I didn't had much time, so I took a taxi and headed right to the ferries port.
The ferry left the port at 10am, and arrived 2 hours later at Zamami Island. For once, I was lucky and didn't get seasick! haha

Après être arrivée à Naha, je n'avais pas beaucoup de temps, j'ai donc pris un taxi directement pour rejoindre le port.
Le ferry partit à 10h, et arriva 2 heures plus tard à Zamami. Pour une fois j'ai eu de la chance, je n'ai pas eu le mal de mer! haha

                           
The arrival at the island was amazing, the weather was pretty cloudy, but the sea was so clear and turquoise blue, you could even see the bottom sometimes, I was soooo excited!!!

L'arrivée sur l'île était incroyable, the ciel était plutôt couvert, mais la mer était si claire, d'un bleu turquoise, on pouvait même voir le fond à certains endroits, j'étais surecxitée!!!

                           
Kana, one the hotel staff was already here waiting for me, she was really cute and helped me with my luggage and brought me to the hotel by car.
The hotel was really nice looking and really refreshing. All the staff was really nice to me, they showed me my room and explained everything to me.
This afternoon, I unpacked my luggage, and since the weather wasn't that good, I decided to go on a walk to discover the island.

Kana, l'une des staff de l'hôtel était déjà là à m'attendre, elle a été vraiment adorable et m'a aidé avec mes bagages, et m'a emmenée à l'hôtel en voiture.
L'hôtel était vraiment très mignon et rafraîchissant. Tous les membres du staff étaient très gentils avec moi, ils m'ont montré ma chambre et m'ont tout expliqué.
L'après-midi, je déballais mes bagages, et puisque le temps n'était pas très beau, j'ai décidé d'aller me balader pour découvrir l'île.

The story says that Shiro, a dog from Aka Island, fell so much in love with Marylin that he used to swim everyday accross the 3km of sea between Aka Island and Zamami Island just to meet with her. How cute ♡

L'histoire raconte que Shiro, un chien de l'île d'Aka, tomba tellement amoureux de Marylin que chaque jour il parcourait les 3km séparant les îles Aka et Zamami en nageant, juste pour la voir. Trop mignon ♡

There is a statue of Shiro on Aka Island, and the two statues are facing each other accross the sea.

This story even inspired a movie called "Marylin ni aitai" (I want to meet with Marylin)

I really love how Japan is full of stories like this ♡

Il y a une statue de Shiro sur l'île d'Aka, et les 2 statues se font face séparées par la mer.
Cette histoire a même inspiré un film appelé "Marylin ni aitai"(Je veux voir Marylin)
J'aime le fait que le Japon soit rempli d'histoires de ce genre ♡

On my way back, I stopped by the groceries shop and bought some snacks, I came back to the hotel early evening, I was really tired so I just ate a little bit, and then I went to bed.

Sur le chemin du retour je me suis arrêtée au petit supermarché de l'île pour acheter de quoi grignoter, je suis rentrée à l'hôtel tôt dans la soirée, j'étais vraiment épuisée donc j'ai mangé un morceau et je suis allée me coucher.
